Have I mentioned that I am married to the greatest? She's knitting me a new hat!

I have to point out that I do not deserve this.

I lost the last hat she knit me. And the hat was an undeserved present after I lost the scarf she knit me.

Yesterday while we were in Harvard Square she took me to Woolcott & Co. and we picked out some colors. Hooray!

Overheard shouts from the living room:
  • "Oh my God, run run run run run run, oh he's not fast enough, run! Oh! HE GOT IT!"
  • "Bloooooock!! Yeah!!"
  • "That was interference!"
  • I'm a hacking, wheezing, gurgling mess.

I'm not exactly sure what I did that brought on such a heinous cold, but here I am on the couch with a laptop, some O.J., a box of kleenex; I am completely uninclined to move.

Terri has wandered off to watch the Penn State vs. Michigan State game.

Yesterday went into Harvard Square and did a little preliminary Christmas shopping and took in the sights. The Charles Hotel had its big tree up, and there was an undecorated one in front of Warburton's (the stealth ABP) where the fire-juggler always stands. I was feeling pretty bad already, so I didn't last too long before Terri had to guide me to Tealuxe. I got some black Indian tea because I liked the name (Golden Tippy Assam), but I should have had some of what Terri had, which was Kashmiri chai, because it would have been much more theraputic.

So while I've been couch-ridden, I've been fixing up my linux installation on my work laptop, outfitting it with the latest lovely Gnome desktop from www.ximian.com. I love these guys; I think they're just a couple of steps away from making linux usable by the masses. Combined with StarOffice, it's actually finally possible to make your life Microsoft-free (without giving up your computer).

I've also been spending the day working in the secret lab alongside Terri cooking up a project that we will soon unleash...

I hope my immobility lasts long enough for me to make another uninterrupted foray into War and Peace, which I've been reading since Seattle.

It's official. The Christmas season is here, and Ezra and I are getting ready! Stay tuned to our site for a little holiday treat coming soon...

I am very full from Thanksgiving. Gotta start something different with this site one of these days. I feel aimless today though there's lots I'd like to do. Maybe it's important to be aimless occasionally?

Got to get out of the house. Starting now!

I served my jury duty today for the first time. It wasn't too bad, though I had to trek out to Marlboro. In a way, that ended up being a good part of it -- I went somewhere new and the courtroom had a nice view of some pretty trees. I was impaneled, but after we heard the opening statements they decided to settle the case without continuuing with the trial, so they sent us home.

Ezra is picking up pictures from John's wedding (hopefully there will be some good ones -- most of the ones I took will be through a wine-induced haze, I imagine). There should also be some pictures from Barcelona in there.

Ezra's family will be up again this weekend for the ballet. We're going tomorrow night -- it's more fun to go at night.

Edie is making a ton of noise... jumping from a bucket into the tub and back out again. Cats.

Here we are, back from yet another trip. Seattle was fun. We made it a pretty laid back journey after the honeymoon extravaganza. It's been such a busy, wild couple of months, we (or I should say, I, at least) have whiplash from the speed of everything.

John and Heather are now happily married little apartment dwellers, much like Ezra and myself, only a little different. We salute them, and Homey and Bosco -- their intrepid cats -- as well.

So the work on the site has slowed a little, but there is still much to do. Fear not, we'll get there. Ezra is drifting to other projects, but he always drifts back.

As you maybe can see, we are doing a little work on the site. We cleaned up the links page, though it's not quite right yet and not exactly updated. We did remove dead links. More overhaul may be coming soon.

We still have lots of honeymoon and wedding pictures to post and organize. We did get our proofs from Jenny Edwards on Sunday and they are pretty great.

Tonight we head out to Seattle for our friends' wedding (Hi John and Heather!). Ezra's never been to Seattle before, so we'll explore around a bit, though we have few specific plans at this point -- even better, I guess.

    It's Fall!

    Thursday, October 11, 2001

We heard from Jenny yesterday that our proofs are in! It is somewhat torturous to not be able to run over and see them *right now*, but we have scheduled a meeting for Sunday morning, and we'll just have to wait! Jenny said right off that our dancing pictures are "something." I think that's a good thing... I think. She also said that she thought The Commons was a good place to take pictures, so!

In other news, we salute Abby Ball (Ezra's youngest sister) who was a member of her high school homecoming court over the weekend. :)

The sunsets lately have been really lovely. A seasonal thing, maybe?

One of the missing rolls of film was indeed my pictures of the Boboli Gardens. I'm glad we got them, because most of them came out very well. Unfortunately the folks at the lab did something weird and gave us two copies of 2 photos and no copies of 3 others, so we'll need to schlepp the negatives someplace and get those few missing copies.

One of the other missing rolls was from the disposable camera I received at my work Christmas party last year. I just kept forgetting to have it developed. Well, now it's here! Mind you, some of the people in the photos haven't actually worked at McGraw-Hill for many months now, but some of the photos are fun.

It's Columbus Day and half of Boston isn't working today, but of course Ezra and I are.

Yesterday we went to the Topsfield Fair. It was good to see the chickens, vegetables, etc. once again. This year's biggest pumpkin set a new world record. AND we got to see Juice Newton for free. It was kind of sad, really. There were about 50-60 people milling around the grandstand listening to her, but there had to be hundreds or maybe thousands of people at the fair. I guess the crowds maybe turned out for Sha Na Na on Saturday... :)

    Lots of work to do...

One of those missing rolls of film would seem to be my pictures of the Boboli Gardens. :( I must get them! I hate when this happens...

So it's FRIDAY and I am at work, but just about ready to pack it in. I start to get useless on Friday around this hour (4:55). I imagine most people do.

    Yours in uselessness...

More photos are on the way... we got 12 rolls back last night but were too tired to scan them after we looked through them all. There are still 2 more to come back (though 1 of those is not of wedding stuff) and 2 rolls still in our cameras.

Time to go hop in the shower and get ready for work.

Today we have done a little work on the site -- mostly posting some photos from my trip to San Francisco last year (gads -- finally) and from our wedding. This is just a tiny sampling of the photos of the wedding we'll post. These are from the one roll that Ezra took and a few that we got from John (thanks, John!). We will add lots of photos from other folks -- and our photographer -- in addition to these. We just don't have them yet.

It's a very autumnal day. I love autumn. More to come soon.

    Friday, September 28, 2001

Since it's been such a long time since we updated, I feel compelled to jot in a little something:

We got 5 rolls of film developed today. Most of our pictures are from the honeymoon since we were pretty busy having fun and such at the wedding itself and not taking pictures. Ezra does have a few fun pictures from the wedding, though. We sort of randomly selected the rolls to get developed at this point, aside from the one that we knew had wedding photos on it. We still have at least 10 more rolls from the honeymoon to get developed. We just wanted to take everything home with us!

Well, if you're looking at this page then you were probably at the wedding or already know about it, but in case not, it was fabulous. Photos and potentially more will be posted soon.

I have proclaimed my immunity from jetlag, but it's only 10 to 8 and I'm feeling mighty sleepy, so maybe I'm not so immune.

Check out the photo and other updates coming soon (finally).

So, greetings from the new news site. We're now using Blogger to give us a simple way to update the news page. We gave it a test run in Europe to do our honeymoon updates and it worked out pretty well.

Given the time and inclination, I could, of course, custom build my own system to update the site but it hardly seems worth it given that Blogger is really simple and well-suited to the format that we had already been using. Plus it makes it easy to archive old stuff, which we hadn't been doing before.

Our other goal is to get some more photos scanned and posted, so off to get cracking on that.
